Magna Digitech’s dedicated Prototype Machining capabilities enable us to provide fully machined products quickly. Our machining heritage of over 20 years having developed and supplied over 500 machined components, for a wide variety of Industries from Automotive to Flow Control to Hydraulics to Locomotives and other Industrial Applications in the weight range of 1 kg to 250 Kgs, has given us the stellar qualifications to develop and supply machined components in record time. Our Technology Suite of Machining Simulation Software, Modular Fixturing and Machining Centers including 5 Axis, Blue Ray Scanning and CMM allows us to take on many challenges successfully and complete machining in a “ Done in One “ approach.

This intricate knowledge ensure that potential issues are identified and resolved in the early stages of the Design Cycle.

Magna Digitech’s wide experience in utilizing Machining Simulation Software from Edge Cam, gives us the capability to plan and execute the machining operations virtually away from the machine. Checking and Resolving Tool Path issues, eliminating any conflicting operations and ensuring proper machining parameters leads us to confident machining without any Stoppages for Program Alterations, Finish Requirements and in setting Optimal Machining Parameters.

Our Experience shows that Prototype Machining is usually 50% Planning, 30% Machining and 20% Post Processing. Our investments and expertise in the Pre Machining stage – Tools, Pre Setter and Modular Fixturing enables us to do Rapid Machining for Rapid Prototypes.

The Modular Fixturing, eliminates the wait for the design and development and modification of fixtures which normally takes weeks or months. With our Multiple Base Plates along with a library of Modular Clamps we can fixture up in a matter of days instead of weeks. Further Zero Point clamping and Fixture Configuration Off Line means rapid setup in our machines.

Our Dedicated Prototype Machining Shop has at its core, the Hartford 5 Axis with Heidenhain TNC 640 Controller and working surface 650 dia. The complete suite of the Machine, Simulation Software, Modular Fixturing and CMM along with our vast experience provides us the capability to get the machining “ Done in One “.

For Larger components we have access to our Moving Column VMC – Hartford Mirage HEP-2150AG with table size 2000 x 1400mm with 4th axis capability. Turning Requirements are met with our Vertical and Horizontal Turning Centers.

Part Qualification

Post Machining

Our Dimensional Validation equipment dedicated to Prototyping include CMM and Blue Ray Scanner. CMM Explorer Performance with TESA STAR -M Probe and Table Size of 800x1000x600mm, Romer Absolute Arm with Laser Scanner and Measuring Range of 1.2m. Inputs from our machining modelling and simulation software are used to directly interface with the Dimensioning Equipment. Other facilities such as Radiography

3d printing

The parts are printed directly by our Bound Metal Deposition printer layer by layer, which involves extrusion of bound metal rods. This ensures production of parts with quick development time, assuring design freedom.

Sintering

Sintering causes the metal particles to densify thereby creating a solid structure  the part is heated to temperatures near melting, the remaining binder is removed and metal particles fuse together causing the part to densify up to 98%. The parts are now ready to use..

Debinding

The part is then immersed in debinding fluid, dissolving primary binder and creating an open-pore channel structure throughout the part, preparing it for sintering.

Part Design

Based on the inputs from the 3D model, various design aspects like thickness, tolerances, metal characteristics are analyzed & the files for metal printing are prepared through Studio System Software generating supports and control parameters .

Finishing

Magna Digitech’s finishing services includes Hand finishing, Grit blasting, Shotblasting, Vibropolishing, REM’s  ISF® (Isotropic Super Finishing) process.
